Presented to the symposium, divided into sections of social science and natural science, were at least 4,100 papers worked out by teachers and researches in the course of waging dynamic educational and scientific activities.

Introduced at the symposium of social science were such papers as "The Songun revolutionary leadership feats performed by the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il during his days at Kim Il Sung University are precious revolutionary treasure for carrying forward to completion the Songun revolutionary cause," "The undying exploits performed in successfully carrying forward and developing the tradition of great revolutionary surge," "The Songun politics is powerful political mode based on philosophy on arms," etc.

The speakers elaborated on the fact that thanks to Kim Jong Il's energetic ideological and theoretical activities, untiring thinking and pursuit at Kim Il Sung University, lots of theoretical and practical issues arising in economics, history, philosophy, etc. were clarified on a scientific basis.

The symposium of natural science heard valuable papers worked out in the course of conducting brisk scientific researches to put the nation's science and technology and economy as a whole on a high stage.

A national symposium of university students took place on August 19 on the same occasion.

Speakers there described Kim Jong Il's leadership at Kim Il Sung University as an epochal-making event in carrying forward and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.

They noted that Kim Jong Il laid a foundation for successfully inheriting the revolutionary cause of Juche through his unique ideo-theoretical activities and led the university students to prepare themselves as staunch revolutionaries who are intensely loyal to the Party and the leader and have ardent love for the country and the nation and the socialist motherland and as persons with noble ideological and moral qualities.
