Story of Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- A summer day in Juche 68 (1979), General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the construction site of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital.

Satisfied to see the building taking shape in a short span of time, he stepped into the main hall of the building.

An official told him that they planned to pave floors with marble from the ground to the second floor and coat the rest floors with artificial stone.

Listening to his explanation, Kim Jong Il said all the floors should be paved with marble cost what it might.

He then suggested that the floor of the main hall be decorated with jewels.

The officials were surprised by his suggest because it would cost a great deal. He told them again that it would be better to stud the floor with jewels for parturient women.

Thanks to his suggestion, the floor of the main hall was decorated with precious jewels such as ruby, sapphire and topaz.
