The Group for the Study of the Juche Idea "Kanggye" of Colombia said in the bulletin that the Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, serves as a fundamental factor which enables the DPRK, not a big country, to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country and emerge victorious in the stand-off with the U.S. styling itself the world's "only superpower". The bulletin elaborated on how he has reliably defended peace and security in the Korean Peninsula and the rest of the Northeast Asian region through his Songun leadership.

Kim Jong Il has opened up a turning phase for Korea's reunification and remarkably increased the international prestige of the country with his Songun politics, it added.

The Egypt-Korea Friendship Association noted in the bulletin that Kim Jong Il's inspection of the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105 Guards Tank Division of the Korean People's Army on August 25, 1960 was not just mere military inspection but it marked his start of the Songun leadership that demonstrated his firm will to defend the destiny of the country and the nation and accomplish the cause of socialism with the army as the main force.
