Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to 927 Chicken Farm which set an example in implementing the WPK's policy on stockbreeding. After going round a room devoted to the history of the farm, he went round the interior and exterior of the cozy farm nestled in the thick forest to learn in detail about technological updating of the farm and production there. Very pleased to watch cases filled with fat chickens and eggs being churned out in an endless stream from conveyer, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the farm has radically changed its appearance and drastically increased the production. It is a signal success that the officials, workers and technicians of the farm thoroughly carried out the party's policy on establishing a ring-shape circling production system to steadily boost the production by use of grain feed produced at the feed base of the farm, he said, highly appreciating the feats performed by them in successfully implementing the party's policy on stockbreeding and extending the special thanks of the Supreme Commander to them. Many stock-breeding bases including modern poultry farms, pig farms, goat farms and cattle farms sprang up in different parts of the country in recent years to pay off profusely, he said, adding that this signal success is a clear testimony to the validity and vitality of the WPK's policy on developing in a big way Korean-style stock-breeding based on modern science and technology. He indicated important tasks which would serve as guidelines for the management and operation of the farm and production there. The main task facing the farm is to boost meat and egg production to meet the increasing demand of the people for their livelihood and keep the production going at a high rate, he said, stressing the need for the officials and employees to increase the sense of their responsibility and give full play to the capacity of modern equipment to this end. A key to increased production in the poultry, too, is to settle the issue of breeding animals, he noted, urging the need for the farm to actively introduce chickens of good stock which grow fast and lay more eggs than other stock while consuming less feed and, at the same time, establish a well-regulated system for the production of breeding animals and their supply at breeding chicken farms so as to provide breeding chickens of good stock nonstop in a planned way. In order to boost the production of meat and eggs at the farm it is necessary to thoroughly establish a scientific management system based on modern technology and wage a vigorous drive to steadily raise the technical level and skill of producers and, at the same time, actively push forward the work to introduce advanced technologies, he noted. Pointing out that thanks to unprecedented great innovations and great leap forward taking place in the country at present the long-cherished ideal is becoming a reality, he earnestly called for making redoubled efforts to bring earlier the bright future of a thriving nation as the day of victory is drawing nearer. He expressed expectation and conviction that the workers of the farm would continue to effect a surge in production and actively contribute to improving the standard of the people's diet. He was accompanied by Jang Song Thaek, vice-chairman of the NDC of the DPRK and department director of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the C.C., the WPK, and Hong Sok Hyong and Thae Jong Su, department directors of the C.C., the WPK. |
