Film Show Held at DPRK Embassy in Beijing

Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- A photo exhibition and a film show were held at the DPRK embassy in Beijing on Aug. 23 to mark the golden jubilee of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership. Displayed in the venue of the exhibition were photos on the theme of "Leader Kim Jong Il and Songun Politics" and other photos on his visit to China. Present there on invitation were Liu Jieyi, deputy head of the International Liaison Department of the C.C., the Communist Party of China, Hu Zhengyue, assistant to foreign minister of China, a vice-director for Personnel Affairs of the General Political Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Wu Donghe, chairman of the China-Korea Friendship Association, and other officials concerned. Ambassador Choe Pyong Gwan and staff members of the DPRK embassy were present. Participants looked round the photos on display before watching Korean feature film "The Country I Saw" (Part 2). The deputy head of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee stressed that General Secretary Kim Jong Il has led socialist construction in the DPRK while assisting President Kim Il Sung from long ago, thus performing undying feats and making great contributions to boosting the China-DPRK friendship. Kim Jong Il's visit to China in May last put the friendly relations between the two parties and the two countries on a new higher stage, he noted. He said that the Chinese people are rejoiced over fresh achievements being made by the Korean people in various fields such as development of the economy and improvement of the standard of people's living. He stressed that the two sides would positively implement the common recognition made by the leaders of the two countries so as to further strengthen the traditional relations of friendship between the two countries. |
