The statement said that the Songun revolutionary leadership of President Kim Il Sung is successfully carried forward by Kim Jong Il, adding that his start of the Songun revolutionary leadership was a noteworthy event that opened up a bright prospect for achieving a shining victory of the Korean revolution and the global cause of independence.

The Workers' Party of Korea has wisely led the whole army and all the people to the victory of socialism, frustrating the moves of the imperialists to stifle the DPRK with the might of Songun under the tested leadership of Kim Jong Il, the statement noted.

The statement expressed belief that the WPK, the army and the people in the DPRK would certainly emerge victorious in the struggle to defend the socialist country and build a reunified thriving nation under the banner of Songun.
