The statement praised President Kim Il Sung as the pioneer of the cause of the Songun revolution and a peerless patriot who protected and glorified the dignity of the country and the nation with his Songun leadership.

It noted that the five decade-long Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il is shinning as a heroic epic in which he defended the cause of socialism and opened up a grand history of building a thriving nation in the DPRK.

The statement stressed that ever-lasting will be the undying feats Kim Jong Il performed by turning the dignified DPRK into an invincible fortress of socialism--independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence--and protecting the world peace with his Songun politics.
