Displayed in the venue of the meeting were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and books on their undying feats.

Mozgovoi, acting first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, said in his report at the meeting that Kim Jong Il, attaching primary importance to the military affairs, established the Songun political mode of pushing ahead with the revolution and socialist construction with the army as a main force.

He went on:

The DPRK has made signal successes in socialist construction under so difficult conditions while protecting its sovereignty and dignity from the pressure of the imperialist allied forces. This is ascribable to the Songun politics.

Speeches were made there.

Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meeting.

An event was held in Lima on Aug. 13 to celebrate the said anniversary and the 40th birthday of the Peruvian-Korean Institute of Culture and Friendship.

Speakers there referred to the achievements and experience gained by the institute in the course of widely introducing the reality of the DPRK and conducting brisk activities for friendship and culture with the Korean people over the past years.

They stressed that socialist Korea has grown to be an invulnerable fortress and emerged a political and ideological power and a military giant possessed of powerful nuclear deterrent thanks to the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il.

The participants of the event watched Korean film "Pyongyang Today" and enjoyed an art performance.
