Attending the meeting were Kim Yong Nam, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, and delegates elected by city and county party committees and party organizations of units at different levels with the same functions in the province and primary party organizations of bodies of the provincial level.

The meeting discussed the issue of electing delegates to the conference of the WPK.

Hong In Bom, chief secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK who is delegate of the party organization of Phyongsong City, said in his speech on the election that the election of General Secretary Kim Jong Il as a delegate to the conference of the WPK is a manifestation of the undisputed trust in him and transparent loyalty to him of all the party members and people in the province deepened in the course of the historic struggle, in which they have covered only the road of victory and glory, invariably holding him at the highest posts of the Party and the revolution, and the reflection of the requirements of the era for the victory of the cause of building a thriving socialist nation.

He referred to the fact that Kim Jong Il clearly indicated the orientation and ways for the province to follow while giving field guidance to hundreds of units in the province and his wise leadership and patriotic devotion brought about a stirring reality in the province.

It is the greatest luck and glory and immense pride of all the Koreans to hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem, he said, courteously proposing the election of Kim Jong Il as a delegate to the conference of the WPK.

Delegates of party organizations in the province in their speeches were unanimous in warmly supporting and approving his proposal.

A decision on electing Kim Jong Il as a delegate to the conference of the WPK was adopted at the meeting with a unanimous approval, representing the will and desire of all the party members and people in the province.

The meeting also elected delegates to the conference of the WPK.
