DPRK Committee for Investigation Urges Japan to Pay for All Its Crimes

Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Committee for Investigation into the Damage Done by the Japanese Imperialists during their Occupation of Korea Saturday issued a statement on the lapse of a century since the illegal and invalid "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty" was promulgated by the Japanese imperialists. The statement cited facts to prove that after legalizing their occupation of Korea by the illegal and brigandish methods the Japanese imperialists inflicted unspeakable misfortune and disaster upon the Koreans while enforcing the harshest colonial rule. After the defeat, too, the Japanese reactionaries have frantically pursued the moves for reviving militarism and staging a comeback to Korea including the distortion of history, moves to grab Tok Islets, sanctions against the DPRK and rackets against the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, far from honestly repenting of their crime-woven history and making reparation for it, the statement said, and went on: The hypocritical statement issued by the Japanese prime minister recently on the lapse of a century since the fabrication of the treaty was nothing but a cynical ploy to evade the responsibility for the past aggression and it is only adding to the said crimes. The Japanese reactionaries' moves for reviving militarism and staging a comeback to Korea have entered a graver phase due to the Lee Myung Bak group. No matter how much water may flow under the bridge and how often the generation is placed by a new one, the Korean people will never forget the bloody aggression committed by the Japanese reactionaries but surely settle accounts with them and deal merciless sledgehammer blows at the Lee Myung Bak group keen to seek a way out in selling off the dignity and interests of the nation to outsiders. The Japanese reactionaries should sincerely repent of the past crimes and make reparation for them and immediately roll back the hostile policy toward the DPRK and stop such anachronistic acts as fostering Korea's permanent division and the confrontation between the north and the south and obstructing the reunification of Korea. |
