Attending the meeting were Choe Yong Rim, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, and delegates elected by city and county party committees and party organizations of units at different levels in the province and primary party organizations of bodies of the provincial level.

The meeting discussed the issue of electing delegates to the conference of the WPK.

Kim Jae Ryong, secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK who is delegate of the party organization of the People's Committee of the province, said in his speech on the election that General Secretary Kim Jong Il is the supreme representative of the WPK, symbol of the dignity and glory of the country and the nation and ever-victorious banner of the army and people of the DPRK.

He stressed it is the undying exploit performed by Kim Jong Il to shine for all ages that he strengthened in every way the Party and the army with his tireless Songun revolutionary leadership and demonstrated the dignity and honor of the country and the nation.

He referred to the fact that Kim Jong Il gave field guidance for tens of times to the province in the last 15 years, adding that thanks to his foresightedness and outstanding and tested leadership, shining successes of pushing back the frontiers of the latest science were registered in different fields of the national economy and radical changes were brought about in the field of agriculture in the province.

He courteously proposed the election of Kim Jong Il as a delegate to the conference of the WPK, representing the unanimous desire of all the party members and people in the province.

The speakers at the meeting fully supported and approved the proposal.

A decision on electing Kim Jong Il as a delegate to the conference of the WPK was adopted at the meeting with a unanimous approval.

The meeting also elected delegates to the conference of the WPK.
