Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a signed commentary in this regard: This is another intolerable act of treachery to serve the U.S. as it is intended to seriously infringe upon the national dignity and sovereignty and unhesitatingly sell off the interests of the nation to outsiders and a reckless action to push the situation on the Korean Peninsula and in its vicinity to an unpredictable catastrophe.

Lee's offer to bring the "monster-like" U.S. military base rejected even by the Japanese to south Korea cannot be construed otherwise than a treacherous malarkey beyond imagination.

Even the mere appearance of a U.S. carrier called "floating military base" screws up the military tensions around the Korean Peninsula in a minute and poses a grave threat to the other party. Under this situation it is not hard to guess how adversely the proposed transfer of the U.S. air force base to south Korea from Futenma will affect the military equilibrium and security in Northeast Asia.

If peace and security are to be ensured on the Korean Peninsula it is urgent to force all the U.S. imperialist aggression troops and their bases to withdraw from south Korea. The Lee group is seeking to host more U.S. military bases in disregard of the stark reality. It is, indeed, a group of wicked enemies of the nation and dangerous war maniacs keen to realize their criminal ambition to do harm to the fellow countrymen by force in collusion with aggressors to please outsiders, toeing their line.

The reality calls not only on the south Korean people but on all other Koreans to wage a vigorous nationwide struggle to bring a miserable end to the group of traitors keen to do harm to the nation in reliance upon outsiders.
