Exploits of Kim Jong Il Praised

Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- A Kimjongilia exhibition took place in Russia, lectures in Italy, Sweden, Romania and Thailand and lectures, seminars, film shows and Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibitions in South Africa, Sweden, Bangladesh and Bulgaria in the period from August 20 to 24 to mark the 50th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership. On display in the venues of the functions were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, books and photos dealing with their immortal exploits, photos showing the vitality of the Songun politics and handiworks representing the creative talents of the Korean people. Osvaldo Pesce, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Unified Communist Party of Italy, said in a lecture that Kim Jong Il has developed and enriched the Songun idea founded by the President from long ago to indicate the position held by Songun and role played by it in defending the sovereignty of the country and gains of socialism from the imperialists' aggression and advancing the human cause of independence, and led the Korean revolution to victory with his Songun revolutionary leadership. Eric Andersson, international secretary of the Communist Party in Sweden, noted in a lecture that under the banner of Songun the DPRK has steadily bolstered powerful military capacity enough to resolutely beat back any aggression. Powerful war deterrent bolstered by dint of Songun is just a great contribution to the global peace, the feat of the DPRK, he stressed. Daniel Dediu, chairman of the Romanian Workers' Association, stated in a lecture that the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, a landmark of Korea's reunification, and the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing the joint declaration, were adopted and the international prestige of the DPRK has been remarkably raised under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il. A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the event held in South Africa. |
