Japanese Reactionaries' Undisguised Moves to Grab Tok Islets Flayed

Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- Materials proving the fact that Tok Islets are part of an inalienable territory of Korea were recently disclosed again to bring into bolder relief the brigandish and shameless ambition of Japan to grab the islets, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a signed commentary. It goes on: Jong Pyong Jun, professor at Ehwa Women's University of south Korea, said in his book "Tok Islets in 1947" that "the U.S. map in 1949 and the UK map in 1951 were produced without having mutual consultation, but both sides marked Tok Islets as part of the territory of Korea." One of the disclosed maps was the map made by the U.S. State Department when preparing a "draft peace treaty with Japan" and the other was the map produced by the UK two years later. It is the fact recognized by those who have elementary common sense and viewpoint that Tok Islets are part of the inviolable territory of Korea. This admits of no argument. Nevertheless, the Japanese reactionaries are becoming all the more undisguised in their bid to seize Tok Islets. The aim sought by Japan in shamelessly raising the claim to Tok Islets is to pick up the sensitive territorial issue in a bid to kick off the reinvasion of Korea. Japan is making desperate efforts to realize its old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" by invading Korea and conquering Asia with the Korean Peninsula as a springboard just as the Japanese imperialists did in the past. But, the Japanese militarist forces are seriously mistaken. The Korean people are no longer what used to be in the past when they had to shed bitter tears as members of a stateless nation after the "Ulsa (1905) Five-point Treaty" and the "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty" were fabricated by the cruel Japanese imperialists. Japan should give up its brigandish bid to grab Tok Islets. This is a solemn warning served by the Korean people to the Japanese reactionaries who are making desperate efforts to stage a comeback to Korea like a puppy knowing no fear of a tiger. |
