The stadium with the accommodation capacity of more than 20,000 people is fully equipped with all conditions necessary for indoor and outdoor games and training of diverse events including football, basketball, volleyball, track-and-field events, table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton, weight-lifting, Taekwon-do, boxing and wrestling.

The reconstruction of the stadium made it possible for sportspersons, working people and school youth and children to improve their sports technique there. The stadium can also satisfactorily host domestic and international games, to say nothing of colorful sports and cultural activities including mass gymnastic display.

Attending the ceremony were Ri Sang Gwan, chairman of the North Hwanghae Provincial People's Committee, officials of units at all levels, builders and working people.

A message of thanks sent by General Secretary Kim Jong Il was conveyed to the builders and helpers who participated in the project for the reconstruction of the stadium.

At the end of the ceremony the participants looked round the stadium.
