The editorial notes that through the China visit he further deepened the friendly relations between the top leaders of the two parties and countries and injected fresh vitality into the DPRK-China relations in the new century aspiring after steady development. He, at the same time, showed a good example in developing the friendly relations among the countries desirous of unity and cooperation under the banner of independence and made a great contribution to safeguarding the peace and stability in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world and advancing the cause of socialism.

His China visit greatly pleases and encourages the two peoples as it is a landmark event giving powerful impetus to the sacred struggle of the parties and peoples of the two countries for socialist construction and national reunification, the editorial says, and goes on:

The DPRK-China friendship is a valuable common treasure of the two peoples and unbreakable friendship having eternal vitality.

Leaping progress is being made in socialist China to provide a guarantee for the prosperity of the country. The Korean people are rejoiced over the daily change of the appearance of China and the great achievements made in all fields as over their own and extend firm support and solidarity to the socialist cause of the Chinese people.

The party, government and people of China are extending unreserved support and encouragement to the Korean people in their efforts to build a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation. The Korean people are thankful for this.

The Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people will as ever make positive efforts to boost the friendly ties between the two counties which stood the test of history.

The immortal exploits Kim Jong Il performed by paying the historic visit to China, representing the desire of the two peoples to develop the traditional relations of the DPRK-China friendship as required by the new century, will shine long in the history of the DPRK-China friendship.
