The statement said that President Kim Il Sung founded the DPRK in which the popular masses became masters of the country and turned it into a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence, adding that his immortal exploits would shine forever.

It went on:

The DPRK is winning one victory after another, remaining undeterred by challenges of the imperialists and all trials under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, peerless statesman, and greeted new heyday in building a socialist thriving nation.

The statement expressed belief that the Korean people would achieve successes in their struggle to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country and open the gate to a thriving nation in the near future under the outstanding Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il and extended full support and solidarity to socialist Korea in its just cause.
