Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Seminars, book and photo exhibitions and film shows took place in Sweden, Russia, Ethiopia, India and South Africa between Aug. 19 and 25 to mark the 50th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership. On display in the venues of exhibitions were books and photos on the undying Songun revolutionary leadership feats of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and photos introducing the Korean people in the drive to build a thriving nation. Appreciated at the film shows were "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation", "Pyongyang at Night", "Arms of Korea" and other Korean films. Oskar Molleby, chief of the Swedish Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, noted at the seminar on Kim Jong Il's work "The Democratic People's Republic of Korea Is a Socialist State of Juche with Invincible Might" that he started the Songun revolutionary leadership by providing a field guidance to the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105 Guards Tank Division of the Korean People's Army on Aug. 25, 1960. Thanks to his Songun leadership the DPRK could advance along the road of victory, he said. Vorontsov, chief of the Section for Korea of the Institution of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said that Songun is the greatest political mode suitable to the present complicated situation of the Korean Peninsula. It is the clear fact that the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK have been defended under the Songun policy, he added. The chief of a branch group of the Youth Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of Ethiopia said that Kim Jong Il's Songun leadership is a basic factor that helps the DPRK, not a big country, safeguard its sovereignty and dignity and emerge victorious, squarely standing up to the U.S. styling itself "the only superpower" in the world. A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the seminar in Ethiopia. |
