Japan's Military Maneuvers Assailed

Pyongyang, September 7 (KCNA) -- Japan's Ground "Self-Defence Force" recently staged military exercises in Hokkaido with a large number of troops and military equipment involved. Reportedly they perfected an operation of going from defense over to offensive action through the exercises aimed to examine in an overall way the display of combat capability at maximum. Meanwhile the GSDF conducted a large-scale live firing drill at the Higashifuji range in Shizuoka Prefecture. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday carries a signed commentary in this regard. Such military exercises in Japan, reminiscent of a war, are little different from an open declaration at home and abroad on Japan's intention to set out on the road of overseas aggression, the commentary says, and goes on: The Japanese reactionaries seek to put into practice their scenario for overseas aggression by further increasing the SDF combat capability through the intensified movement for turning Japan into a military giant. They are busy examining the dispatch of escort warships, patrol planes and other mobile strike forces of Japan to the PSI joint naval exercises the U.S. and the south Korean puppet authorities have planned to stage with some countries next month. This is also prompted by the said intention. Their planned dispatch of SDF troops is intended to attain their insidious aims through strengthened military tie-ups with the U.S. and the south Korean puppet authorities. Undoubtedly, Japan's launch of overseas aggression will wreck peace and stability not only in Asia but also in the rest of the world. The Japanese reactionaries are getting overheated in the scheme for reinvasion over the fictitious "threat" from the DPRK. The fact makes it easy to guess who the main target of the militarist aggression forces is. The Japanese militarists are, however, seriously mistaken. Their reckless moves for conversion of Japan into a military giant and overseas expansion are as foolish an act as jumping out of frying pan into fire. |
