Wonsan Branch Zoo

Pyongyang, September 7 (KCNA) -- The Wonsan branch zoo of the Central Zoo is situated at the foot of Mt. Jangdok thickly covered with trees in Wonsan, Kangwon Province, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The branch zoo, covering more than scores of hectares, has a several-kilometer-long course of visit. Living at the branch zoo are many kinds of birds and animals in Korea and from different regions of the world. Among them are vulture, parakeet, Phungsan dog, Jindo dog, wolf and donkey, buzzard, raccoon dog, fox, deer, turkey, pheasant, white-fronted goose and musk duck. The branch zoo has applied Koryo medicine to prolong their life and increase breeding coefficient. It is visited by lots of people, including schoolchildren, to enjoy a good time and get a zoological knowledge. |
