Present there were the DPRK government delegation led by Minister of Urban Management Hwang Hak Won, Pak Myong Ho, minister of the DPRK embassy in Beijing, officials concerned, and the vice-minister of Housing and Urban and Rural Construction of China, the deputy general representative of the Chinese government at the expo, different personages and citizens of Shanghai.

Speeches were made by Hwang Hak Won and the Chinese vice-minister of Housing and Urban and Rural Construction.

They noted that General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited China twice this year, achieving common understanding of the issues of common concern with Hu Jintao and other Chinese party and state leaders and injecting fresh energy into the development of the relations between the two countries.

They referred to the fact that the DPRK's pavilion draws keen interest of visitors as it shows the history and culture of Pyongyang, modern structures, customs and life of people and the appearance of the city in a huge park.

They stressed that Shanghai expo would contribute to deepening the political confidence between the two countries, promoting cultural exchange and friendship and developing the DPRK-China cooperative relations on a high stage.

The participants visited the pavilions of the DPRK and China and the main pavilion of the expo and enjoyed a performance given by the Pyongyang Art Troupe at Asia plaza in the area of the expo.

Put on the stage were such colorful pieces as chorus "Song of General Kim Jong Il", an immortal revolutionary paean, male solo "It Is the Best Society" and dance "Dance of Janggu".

A reception was given on the occasion of the day of the DPRK pavilion and there was a performance by artistes of the Pyongyang Art Troupe that evening.
