Tribute Paid to Kim Il Sung

Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- Senior party and state officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, leading officials of party and armed forces organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace on Thursday on the occasion of the 62nd birthday of the DPRK. Placed before the statue of President Kim Il Sung was a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and its Central Military Commission, the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK. The senior party and state officials paid humble respect to the statue of the President. The participants made bows in profound reverence to the President, founder and builder of the Republic. Commanding officers of the Korean People's Army, the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, servicepersons of the KPA and working people from all walks of life visited the palace on the same day. Foreigners and overseas compatriots also visited the palace to pay homage to the President. They included the diplomatic corps, the military attaches corps and representatives of the international organizations here, Vishwanath, secretary-general of the International Kim Il Sung Prize Council and director-general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, a congratulatory group of the Korean residents in Japan for celebrating the 62nd birthday of the DPRK led by Pak Ku Ho, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan and a congratulatory group of the General Association of Koreans in China headed by Vice Director Kim Yong Hui. |
