Kim Jong Il Enjoys September Concert

Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il enjoyed the September concert given by Unhasu Orchestra to mark the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the DPRK. The concert began with the playing of the national anthem. Put on the stage were chorus "Our Great Country", female sextet and chorus "Fly Our Tri-Color National Flag of the Republic", female vocal solo and chorus "My Country" and other colorful numbers. Through their performance replete with revolutionary enthusiasm and optimism and rich emotion the performers enthusiastically sang of the happiness of the working people leading a worthwhile life under the care of the DPRK, which brought about epoch-making miracles and changes and daily prospered under wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and truthfully represented the unshakable faith and will of the army and people of the DPRK to further consolidate the Korean-style socialist system centered on the popular masses as an invincible fortress, single-mindedly united around the Party. Kim Jong Il expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the artistes of the Unhasu Orchestra presented a splendid concert rich in ideological contents and high in artistry by displaying revolutionary traits of creation. He extended thanks to them, highly estimating their successful performance. He expressed expectation and conviction that the creators and artistes of the orchestra would conduct dynamic revolutionary and militant art creative activities in the future, too to powerfully encourage the army and people in the sacred struggle for accomplishing the cause of building a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation. Among the audience were Jang Song Thaek, vice-chairman of the NDC of the DPRK and department director of the WPK Central Committee, Secretaries Choe Thae Bok and Kim Ki Nam and other leading officials of the WPK Central Committee, Korean People's Army General Kim Jong Gak, member of the NDC of the DPRK and first vice-director of the KPA General Political Bureau, KPA General Ri Yong Ho, chief of the KPA General Staff, and other commanding officers of the army and armed forces organs. |
