A farm in Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang, has planted the high-yield strain whose growing period is shorter and consumption of fertilizers per hectare lower than other strains.

The new strain does not need plastic sheet in cultivating rice seedlings.

It was highly evaluated at the National Festival of Science and Technology held in April.
