The work, published on Sept. 5, Juche 97 (2008), stresses that the 60-year-long history of the DPRK is a history of great struggle and victory, creation and changes in which the Korean people defended the independence and honor of the country and built a rich and powerful socialist country under the guidance of the great leader and the great party. Also expounded in it is the idea that even a small and backward country can turn into a developed and dignified power when it is guided by the great leader and the great party.

It indicates the tasks and ways for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche under the banner of the Juche idea, the banner of Songun.
