Message of Sympathy from Syrian President

| Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il received a message of sympathy from Bashar Al-Assad, president of Syria, on Aug. 23 as regards the recent floods that hit many parts of the DPRK, causing serious damage. The message said: We got the shocking news that the DPRK suffered serious damage from the floods that hit its many parts. In this regard, I, on behalf of the Syrian Arab people and myself, express deepest consolation and sympathy to Your Excellency and the friendly Korean people. We are sure that you will overcome this disaster. Sincerely yours. |
