Meanwhile, DPRK weightlifters garnered three gold, three silver medals and two bronze medals at the 2010 World Weightlifting Championships now under way in Turkey.

Kim Un Guk came first in total points and grabbed two gold medals and a silver medal by finishing first with 147kg in snatch and placing second with 173kg in clean and jerk in the men's 62kg category event.

Pak Hyon Suk bagged a gold medal by lifting 103kg in snatch in the women's 58kg category event while Jong Chun Mi finished third in total points to receive a silver medal by lifting 130kg in clean and jerk.

Cha Kum Chol finished third in total points by coming second in snatch in the men's 56kg category event.
