The said declarations have commanded unquestioned support from all Koreans irrespective of ideology and ism and been accepted by them as a reunification programme common to the nation, the article notes, and goes on:

Their spirit represents the strong faith of Koreans which can never be quelled by any moves against reunification.

"Long live the struggle to achieve reunification and peace in the spirit of by our nation itself!" loudly chanted by Rev. Han Sang Ryol when crossing the Panmunjom demarcation line dividing Korea into the north and the south after visiting Pyongyang reflected the irresistible desire for reunification.

Progressive organizations representing people of different strata including the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration and the Solidarity for Progress of south Korea and the (south) Korean Confederation of Trade Unions strongly urged the authorities to make an immediate switchover in their anachronistic policy of confrontation and save the inter-Korean relations from the worst phase as early as possible.

Actions gaining momentum in south Korea to support Rev. Han's righteous visit to Pyongyang and demand his release clearly show the ardent desire of south Koreans to defend peace and achieve reconciliation, unity and independent reunification of the nation through the implementation of the above-said declarations.

Aware that it is possible to protect independence and dignity of the nation and achieve peace, prosperity and reunification only when the June 15 cause is upheld and dynamically pushed forward, all the fellow countrymen are resolutely turning out as one in the patriotic struggle for preserving and implementing the above-said declarations, concludes the article.
