The statement noted that the WPK has wonderfully fulfilled its mission as the guiding force of the popular masses' cause of independence and socialism in the past 65 years and led them to display the inexhaustible creativity in socialist construction.

The WPK put forward the correct line and policy, strategy and tactics in each period and at every stage of the revolution and construction, advancing the cause of socialism to victory. It firmly defended and embodied the revolutionary and socialist principles in the whole course of accomplishing the cause of socialism, noted the statement, and went on:

Thanks to the Songun politics pursued by General Secretary Kim Jong Il the DPRK has not only safeguarded socialism weathering the worst adversities but also vigorously advanced towards a great prosperous and powerful nation.

The statement expressed conviction that the goal of the Korean people to build a thriving nation will certainly be achieved thanks to the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il.
