Shoji Yamata, honorary professor at Rikkyo University, in his report referred to the information he obtained through his study and new findings made recently. He pointed in detail to the facts that at that time the Japanese government not only faked up and spread groundless rumors that Koreans rose in a riot but hurled army, police, vigilante corps and other forces into killing Koreans.

He laid bare the ceaseless crimes committed by the State of Japan in the wake of the earthquake; it not only covered up the truth about the mass killings of Koreans by describing them as excesses done by some persons but brutally cracked down upon protests against the massacres of Koreans and memorial services for the slain Koreans conducted by Koreans in Japan and Japanese.

The participants of the ceremony discussed and decided on the tasks facing the above-said society to conduct activities urging the Japanese government to recognize the responsibility for the above-mentioned massacres of Koreans and apologize for them and take necessary steps for them, inquire into the victims of the massacres and their bereaved families and open to the public the results of the inquiry into the massacres and information about them, etc.
