Kim Han Il, a vice-minister of the Ministry of Metal Industry, told KCNA that Kim Jong Il had successfully led the revolutionary cause of Juche with outstanding ideas and unusual practice over the past five decades since he started revolutionary activities. As the Korean people have known well of the fact through the arduous and long history of advance, they have kept him at the head of the WPK, he added.

Kim Tong Son, a department director of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, noted that Kim Jong Il had strengthened the WPK as a veteran and seasoned revolutionary party and an invincible party fully supported by all the people. Under his leadership, the Koreans have become independent people with an indomitable faith and will, he said, and continued:

His reelection marks a great historical event in the development of the WPK and the revolution and gives the Korean people the greatest happiness and honor.

Guided by him, the WPK has always remained the party of President Kim Il Sung, serving the people in good faith and displaying its invincible might.

Pak Kwang Chol, an officer of the Korean People's Army, said that he was most grateful to Kim Jong Il for guiding the WPK triumphantly.

His reelection is an expression of unreserved trust of the Party members, servicepersons and all other people in Kim Jong Il, who has turned the country into an invincible politico-ideological, military and scientific and technological power, opened up a new era for prosperity with his unique Songun-based revolutionary leadership and made a great contribution to the cause of independence against imperialism, he stressed.
