The resolution said that the historic June summit in 2000 and the Pyongyang summit in 2007 which culminated in the adoption of the "Declaration for Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity" were events of national significance as they advanced the June 15 era of reunification on a higher stage.

After the publication of the October 4 declaration the north and the south witnessed an era of national reconciliation, cooperation, peace and reunification in the political, economic, military, cultural and all other fields something unprecedented in the history of division, the resolution noted, and went on:

We will preserve and implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration to independently reunify the country by the concerted efforts of the Koreans.

We will firmly protect the independent dignity and interests of the nation and resolutely stand up against foreign forces' unreasonable interference and arbitrary practices.

We will take the lead in the struggle to reject all acts of inciting confrontation between fellow countrymen and protect peace.

We will reject all the hostile acts of fostering confrontation and war within the nation and make positive efforts to completely defuse the danger of a war and build a lasting peace-keeping regime on this land.

We will boost the unity with all political parties, organizations and personages at home and abroad aspiring after national reconciliation, peace and reunification.

The resolution called on all the Koreans to turn out as one in the patriotic movement for reunification for implementing the inter-Korean declarations with firm confidence and optimism about national reunification and pave a new way for achieving peace and reunification by the concerted efforts of all the Koreans.
