President Kim Il Sung advanced the above-said proposal favored by all the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad, foreseeing the distant future of the Korean Peninsula with his clairvoyant insight, the statement said, adding that this is an undying feat to shine long in the history of the reunification movement of the Korean nation.

We are of the view that Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, formulated the three charters for national reunification and provided the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration with his patriotic will for reunification and bold decision, giving a sure guarantee for achieving reunification by federal formula based on the noble patriotic idea of "By our nation itself", and a landmark for the reunification of Korea, the statement noted.

It denounced the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors of south Korea for perpetrating such acts against the DPRK, the nation and reunification as escalating the confrontation with fellow countrymen, backed by foreign forces, and staging ceaseless madcap joint military exercises targeted against the DPRK together with the U.S., increasing the military tensions on the Korean Peninsula to an extreme phase.

It urged the U.S., the chief architect of the division of Korea, and other countries concerned to own due responsibility for the division of the Korean Peninsula that lasted for more than half a century, refrain from obstructing the reunification of Korea and fulfill their obligations to ensure durable peace and stability of the peninsula.

It called upon the political parties, governments and organizations the world over desirous of peace, stability and reunification of the peninsula to continue supporting the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people in their struggle to accomplish the cause of national reunification according to the proposal.
