Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The Youth and Students Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration adopted a resolution at a rally in Seoul last Sunday on the occasion of the third anniversary of the publication of the October 4 declaration. The resolution said that the October 4 declaration serves as action guideline as it comprehensively deals with and indicates overall ways for developing the inter-Korean relations and achieving the peace of the Korean Peninsula, the prosperity common to the nation and national reunification based on the basic spirit of the June 15 joint declaration. The inter-Korean relations collapsed and the peninsula stands at the crossroads of peace or war after emergence of the Lee Myung Bak "government," it noted. The resolution declared that the youth and students would defend to the last the idea of "By our nation itself", the basic spirit of the June 15 joint declaration, and never tolerate any act of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad totally denying the inter-Korean joint declarations and obstructing their implementation. It stressed the need for the youth and students organizations to further strengthen solidarity with organizations grouping people of different strata supporting the inter-Korean joint declarations, firmly unite all the patriotic young people desirous of peace and reunification under the banner of "By our nation itself" and make positive contributions to expanding and strengthening All-Korean Committee for Implementation of June 15 Joint Declaration and enhancing its role. It called upon the youth to take the lead in the grand march for reunification under the banner of the inter-Korean joint declarations and glorify 2012 marking the fifth anniversary of the publication of the October 4 declaration as a year of independent reunification, peace and prosperity. |
