Present there on invitation were Kalashnikov, permanent member and secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and first vice-chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the State Duma, Yajov, former defense minister of the Soviet Union, and personages of political parties, the government, the State Duma, institutions and organizations of Russia, including "A Just Russia", the Communist Party of Soviet Union, the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, the Communist Workers' Party of Russia-Revolutionary Communist Party, the Foreign Ministry, the Defense Ministry, the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Culture, the Academy of Sciences, the Moscow City Government and the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK.

Charge d'Affaires ad Interim O Sung Ho and staff members of the DPRK embassy in Moscow were on hand.

The participants laid floral baskets and bouquets before the full-length portrait of President
Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to them. Then they looked around photos introducing the WPK's history of victory and glory.

Speeches were made there.

O Sung Ho said that the foundation of the WPK by Kim Il Sung 65 years ago was an event of historical significance in accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche. He referred to the fact that under the leadership of Kim Jong Il the army and people of the DPRK have achieved historic victory and successes in building a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation.

It is the boundless honor and happiness of the WPK, the army and people of the DPRK to have reelected Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the WPK, he stressed.

He expressed the will to further develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries in the future, too.

Kalashnikov said that the WPK founded by Kim Il Sung has always discharged its role as the guide in accelerating socialist construction, increasing the national defence capability and achieving the reunification of the country over the past years.

We once again extend heartfelt congratulations to Kim Jong Il on his reelection as general secretary of the WPK at its Conference, he said.

He expressed confidence that the friendly and cooperative relations between the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Workers' Party of Korea and between the two countries would further develop and the support and solidarity between the two parties would be strengthened.
