Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- A meeting and a Kimjongilia exhibition took place in Russia and meetings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows in Thailand and Guinea between Sept. 30 and Oct. 6 to celebrate General Secretary Kim Jong Il's reelection as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 65th birthday of the WPK. Displayed in their venues were books and photos on the exploits President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il performed by leading the party building and on the WPK's history of victory and glory. Speeches were made at the events. The chairman of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand said that Kim Jong Il's reelection as general secretary of the WPK represented the absolute support and trust of all the Korean people in him and the steadfast will of the army and people of the DPRK to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche under his leadership. The director general of the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea noted that the WPK has further strengthened into a powerful party in which the leader, the party and the masses become a harmonious whole as it has already had at its top post Kim Jong Il creditably carrying forward Kim Il Sung's cause of party building. We are firmly convinced that the Korean people will surely open the gate to a thriving nation in 2012 marking the centenary of birth of Kim Il Sung, founder of socialist Korea, with the pride and honor of having reelected Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the WPK, he added. Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events in Russia and Guinea. Meanwhile, a seminar and a book and photo exhibition were held in Nepal, round-table talks in Egypt, a lecture and a book exhibition and a film show in India and a juvenile Taekwon-do demonstration match in Russia between Sept. 30 and Oct. 4 to commemorate the anniversary of the WPK. The participants in the film shows watched Korean films "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and "Pyongyang at Night". A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the event in Nepal. |
