Saying that President Kim Il Sung set forth the proposal at the 6th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea on Oct. 10, 1980, the statement stressed that the proposal calling for reunifying the country, while leaving the ideologies and systems in the north and the south as they are, is the just and aboveboard one acceptable to the north and the south alike as it is in line with the requirements and interests of the Koreans and the internationally recognized principle of peace and national self-determination.

The proposal constitutes the three charters for national reunification together with the three principles of national renunciation and the 10-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation, it said, adding that the three charters are being fully supported by the world progressives loving peace and justice.

Reaffirming full support for the proposal for founding the DFRK, the statement stressed that the committee would struggle together with the Korean people till the proposal is realized.
