The WPK Conference that was held on the threshold of the October holiday was a historic event that opened up a phase of fresh epoch-making turn in the history of the country and in developing the revolution. Kim Jong Il's reelection as general secretary of the WPK at the Conference was the greatest honor and happiness of the party members, service persons and other people and the great auspicious event of the country and the nation. The WPK rules were modified as required by the developing revolution and the party central leadership body was elected. This resulted in strengthening the party organizationally and ideologically and drastically raising its leadership role.

Spectacular miracles were wrought and a great number of monumental edifices in the era of Songun proving that Korea can do anything once it is determined sprang up amid a high-pitched drive to greet the party's birthday with high revolutionary enthusiasm and shining labor achievements.

Miraculous changes took place one after another this year, too, in the wake of last year, a year of great change. This clearly proves that no force can curb the general march of the DPRK and it is sure to triumph in building a thriving nation.
