Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says this in a signed article.

The proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo based on one nation, one state and two systems and two governments set forth by President Kim Il Sung at the Six Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea is a blueprint and a great charter of independent national reunification as it indicates the whole appearance of a unified state and the ways to realize it, the article notes, and goes on:

The proposal for reunifying the country by federal formula is the most just reunification proposal, an embodiment of the three principles of national reunification --independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity--, a programme for reunification common to the nation.

The above-said proposal fairly takes into consideration the interests of authorities, people from all walks of life, parties and groupings in the north and the south, and does not allow the interests of any side, class and grouping to be infringed upon.

This does not create any conditions for the north and the south to stand in confrontation or fight over the issue of each other's interests. It, therefore, helps root out the confrontation and military conflict between the north and the south.

It is the course of achieving the firm unity of the divided nation for the north and the south to found a federal state. In a federal state, all the Koreans in the north and the south will be able to unite close irrespective of ideas and systems and put strong spurs to the independent development of the nation and its prosperity.

It is the irresistible trend of the era of the June 15 reunification to head for achieving reunification by federal formula.

In the historic June 15 joint declaration the north and the south recognized the common points in the north side-proposed low-level federation and the south side-proposed confederation and agreed to work for reunification in this direction in the future.

This is the great progress made by the Koreans in the efforts to achieve reunification by federal formula.
