Present there on invitation was the delegation of the Hungarian Communist Workers' Party led by Chairman Gyula Thurmer.

Secretary Kim Yong Il and officials of the C.C., the WPK were on hand.

In his speech at the reception Kim Yong Il noted with high appreciation that the Hungarian Communist Workers' Party has worked hard to advance the socialist cause, invariably adhering to the revolutionary principle.

He expressed thanks to the Hungarian Communist Workers' Party for setting store by the development of the relations with the Workers' Party of Korea and extending support and solidarity to the WPK and the Korean people in the efforts to build a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation and achieve the independent reunification of the country.

The WPK will as ever strive to strengthen the friendly relations between the two parties, he said.

Gyula Thurmer in his speech said that the WPK founded by President Kim Il Sung set a shining example in the socialist construction, adding that he was very pleased to have an opportunity to see for himself the successes achieved by the Korean People.

The Hungarian communist warmly congratulate Kim Jong Il on his reelection as general secretary of the WPK at the recent Conference of the WPK, he noted, extending solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle for building socialism under the banner of Songun.
