Japan's Wild Ambition to Stage Comeback to Korea under Fire

Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- South Korean political parties and civic and social bodies on Oct. 12 launched an action against the participation of the Japan Maritime "Self-Defense Force" in the PSI-related maritime interception and search exercises kicked off by the U.S. and south Korean warmongers in waters off Pusan on Oct. 13. The Solidarity for Progress of south Korea, the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the south Korean Youth Solidarity and other bodies grouping people of various strata and the Democratic Labor Party held a news conference outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul. The speakers charged at the news conference that the Japanese government is letting its MSDF illegally participate in the above-said exercises in an attempt to escalate the danger of war on the Korean Peninsula, far from making an apology and reparation for Japan's past aggression, and thereby bringing its wild ambition to stage a comeback to Korea to light. It is absolutely intolerable to hurl even Japan's warships into the exercises targeting against the DPRK, they held, demanding the cancellation of the plan to let the MSDF involve in the exercises. 14 organizations including "The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification" and the Student Representatives' Council for Democracy and Independent Reunification held a rally near Kwanghwamun of Seoul. The participants in the rally drew attention to the fact that warships of the MSDF are set to participate in the war drills targeted against the DPRK at Pusan Port and in waters off it, adding that no successive regime of south Korea has done what the Lee Myung Bak regime is doing at present. The Alliance for Progress in South Kyongsang Province at a news conference branded the projected exercises as actions running counter to the desire of the Korean nation for peace and detente on the peninsula and inviting aggressor Japan to stir up an atmosphere of war. The Kwangju-South Jolla Provincial Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, the Kwangju-South Jolla Provincial Solidarity for Progress, "the Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps", the Sachon Alliance for Progress and other organizations in their statements demanded the south Korean authorities halt at once their reckless act of letting Japan realize its wild ambition for staging a comeback to Korea. |
