The statement said that the declaration serves as a programme for bringing earlier the peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula by implementing the June 15 joint declaration.

It accused the Lee Myung Bak regime in south Korea of totally denying the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration after bringing to naught all the successes made in the movement for reunification in the past since it came to power and taking the lead in the moves to tighten the sanctions against the DPRK in collusion with foreign forces.

It strongly demanded that the Lee regime halt at once its moves to escalate confrontation with the DPRK in conspiracy with its U.S. and Japan masters and come out to implement the inter-Korean declarations.

Should the Lee group of traitors persistently pursue the policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen in violation of the June 15 joint declaration, a milestone for reunification, and the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing it, the group will not be able to escape stern punishment of the nation, the statement warned.
