S. Korean Minister of Unification's Reckless Remarks Blasted
Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- Hyon In Thaek, minister of unification of south Korea, on October 8 let loose such strange remarks as "south Korea stands for peaceful unification", "its process should be kicked off with changes in the north" and the like. He asserted "a fundamental change in the north's attitude" during the inspection of state administration at the south Korean "National Assembly" on October 5. He touted "asymmetric reciprocity," talking about what he called "experience" gained by Germany in its "reunification" during his trip to it.

Minju Joson Friday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

Lurking behind his outpourings is a sinister intention to lead the DPRK to changes and achieve the unification through absorption just as Germans did.

"Experience gained in achieving reunification" and "asymmetric reciprocity" touted by Hyon only betrayed his ignorance as he lacked even elementary common sense.

Both Korea and Germany differ from each other in the cause of their partition and they have covered quite different paths since their division.

Hyon more often than not styles himself an expert on international issues. As minister of unification he should know better about the DPRK, the dialogue partner on unification, than about any other countries. It is deplorable that he is now busy letting loose only anti-reunification remarks quite contrary to the public mind-set desirous of national reconciliation and unity and improved inter-Korean relations, unaware of even the reality of the DPRK.

These reckless remarks of Hyon are only adding to his crimes. It is quite clear what fate such traitors to the nation as Hyon will meet, concludes the commentary.
