DPRK Advances to Finals of Asian Soccer Championship

| Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- DPRK men footballers made headway to the finals of the 2010 Asian U-19 Soccer Championship under way in China by defeating the south Korean rival 2-0 in the semifinals. Earlier, the DPRK beat Iraq 3-0, Bahrain 2-0 and China 2-0 to advance to the semifinals, thus getting qualified for the 2011 U-20 World Cup. In the semifinals on Oct. 14 the DPRK took on south Korea, which defeated Japan. In the match it scored the first goal in the 45th minute and the second in the 79th. The DPRK team is to have the gold-medal game with the Australian rival on Sunday. |
