National Sports Festival Opens

| Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- The national sports festival celebrating the 65th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea was opened with due ceremony at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street on Friday. The participants in the festival will compete in 40 events including football, basketball, table tennis, shooting and rhythmic gymnastics to be held in Pyongyang, Hamhung, Wonsan, etc. Present at the ceremony were Ri Yong Su, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, officials concerned and sportspersons. Pak Myong Chol, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, made an opening speech. |
