The statement wished Kim Jong Il great successes in his work for further strengthening the WPK and accomplishing the cause of building a thriving nation as early as possible.

It noted that the strengthening of the WPK and accomplishment of the cause of building a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation would powerfully encourage progressive humankind in its struggle for defending global peace from the threats of the U.S. imperialists and its followers.

The Stoke-on-Trent Branch of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Peruvian People's Women Union separately issued statements on Oct. 3 and 4 on the occasion of Kim Jong Il's reelection as general secretary of the WPK.
