Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- The Genuine Lumumbist Patriotic Party of Democratic Congo, the Working Citizens' Association and the National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of Democratic Congo and the Democratic Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association issued a joint statement on Oct. 9 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo. The statement noted that President Kim Il Sung set forth the most fair and aboveboard proposal for achieving the national reunification by federal formula at the 6th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea. Kim Il Sung set forth the proposal commanding sympathy from all the Koreans, great feat that would shine long in the history of the reunification movement of the Korean nation, the statement said, and went on: Leader Kim Jong Il formulated the three charters for national reunification and provided the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, milestone for reunification of Korea, by embodying Kim Il Sung's idea of loving the country, the nation and the people. The statement expressed full support for the proposal, endorsing it as the most reasonable and realistic proposal for the reunification which most correctly reflects the three principles of national reunification -- independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity -- and the specific conditions of the Korean Peninsula. The statement demanded the present south Korean authorities stop at once the moves of escalating confrontation with fellow countrymen against reunification and respect the will of all the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad to reunify the country according to the June 15 joint declaration. It also demanded the U.S., chieftain of Korea's division, halt all sorts of moves hampering the reunification of Korea and enforce the policy toward the DPRK in the direction of giving help to providing environment favorable for the peace and reunification on the Korean Peninsula. |
