US Moves for Arms Buildup under Fire

Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- The Republican Party of the U.S. in the "commitment" made public with the Nov. 2 Congressional off-year election at hand revealed its attempt to put spurs to the arms buildup under the pretext of the "military threat" from the north. Rodong Sinmun Sunday observes in a signed commentary carried in this regard: The group of the Republican Party is hatching a terrific plot to put the whole world in the crucible of arms race by stepping up the establishment of the missile defense system while collecting a colossal amount of fund from people for the election campaign. The U.S. warlike forces are running wild in moves for a war of aggression against the DPRK to establish the domination over the whole of Korea at any cost, considering the Korean Peninsula as the strategic vantage for realizing the Asia strategy. In March the U.S. imperialists egged south Korea on to orchestrate the case of sinking of a warship and groundlessly passed the buck for the case to the DPRK. They staged large-scale anti-DPRK war exercises one after another with the warmongers of south Korea, gravely threatening the sovereignty and security of the DPRK. The DPRK has bolstered the military capability to defend the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the nation from the aggression of the U.S., not to threaten someone. It is the spasmodic symptom of one seized by a war fever for the U.S. Republican Party to spark off arms race, while talking about the non-existent "threat" from someone. The group of the Republican Party is miscalculated, however. The U.S. warlike forces are vociferating about someone's "threat" but it will get them nowhere. Their rash act to realize the ambition for stifling the DPRK quite contrary to the trend of the times will only compel the DPRK to bolster the might of Songun and precipitate their self-destruction. The group is bound to meet destruction for pursuing foolish moves to bring down the DPRK. |
