The work, published on October 17, 1982, clarifies the historic significance of the organization of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) and the valuable experience gained in building a revolutionary party of Juche type as well as tasks and ways for eternally glorifying President Kim Il Sung's idea on party building and his exploits for it.

The WPK is a revolutionary party holding fast to the principle of independence put forward by the DIU, ever-victorious vanguard ranks steadily carrying forward the tradition of the single-minded unity of the DIU and a militant party enlisting the inexhaustible strength of the popular masses to achieve the prosperity of the country by inheriting the tradition of the DIU, says the article, and goes on:

The faith and will cherished by the passionate fighters of the DIU who pioneered the era of independence on the basis of the revolutionary Juche idea of the President despite whatever storm and stress serve as the foundation of the party building and activities. Steadfast is the stand of the WPK to mercilessly punish the imperialists with the might of Songun and build an independent and prosperous ideal society for people on this land, a goal set by the DIU.

The WPK replete with the great Juche idea, the Songun idea is giving continuity to the glorious revolutionary traditions of the leader. The noblest and the most ardent comradeship of the DIU serves as a revolutionary philosophy of the WPK and the foundation of the single-minded unity and the spirit of defending Hanbyol displayed by the revolutionary martyrs has been carried forward by all the party members as the spirit of devotedly safeguarding the headquarters of the revolution today.

The WPK is the great party which thoroughly embodies the revolutionary mass line and gives full play to the inexhaustible mental power of the popular masses to bring about a revolutionary surge and the mother party which takes care of the destiny and future of the people with responsibility to the last while bringing all happiness under socialism to them.
