Birthday of WPK Celebrated

Pyongyang, October 19 (KCNA) -- Lectures, meetings, art performances and film shows were held by the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Communist Party of Tajikistan, the Workers' Party of Bangladesh and the Hungarian Communist Workers' Party on Oct. 6 and 8 to celebrate the reelection of General Secretary Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 65th birthday of the WPK. Present there were political and social personages of relevant countries and masses. Speeches were made at the events. The vice-chairman of the Propaganda and Education Ideological Commission of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party at a lecture spoke highly of the WPK that developed into a powerful one and gained great successes in all fields under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. The organizational department director of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Tajikistan at a lecture said that Kim Jong Il weathered the difficulties and firmly defended socialism with his original Songun politics at the end of the last century. The chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Bangladesh and other speakers at the meetings noted with appreciation that the Korean people set a global example in defending the country's sovereignty and building a great prosperous and powerful nation and that the DPRK turned into a politico-ideological and military power that no one dares provoke. The chairman of the Hungarian Communist Workers' Party at the art performance and film show lauded the leadership exploits the President and Kim Jong Il performed in party building, assuring that the Hungarian Communist Workers' Party will extend support and solidarity to the just cause of the WPK and make positive efforts for the development of the relations between the two parties in the future, too. Photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Finland, India, Mongolia, Russia and Malaysia from Oct. 1 to 10 on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the WPK. Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events in Hungary and Finland. |
